Ida-Virumaa in East of Estonia has a long industrial tradition and more than 100 years of experience in oil shale processing.
Socio-economic impact
The industrial park is located near the Sompa district of Kohtla- Järve.
Our aim is to create jobs in the historic Sompa mining settlement and to improve the socio-economic situation of the area through investment.
Environment
The technologies to be introduced in the industrial park will be chosen in a way that does not have a negative impact on the surrounding environment. The aim will also be to recycle the waste rock and shale from the historic mining activities on the site.
